When we think of the word mission, it often brings up images of trips to impoverished places, construction projects, career missionaries serving in remote places, or the next fundraising plea. However, Christmas reminds us that our mission for God flows in response to the gift of God’s mission to us. This Advent season may we be reminded that God is hard at work on our behalf as the ultimate missionary and gift-giver.
